ABD Darphanesi, 2028 Los Angeles Olimpiyatları Anı Paraları İçin Yeni Yasayı Değerlendiriyor
ABD Darphanesi, geçmişteki Olimpiyat anı paraları örnekleriyle 2028 Los Angeles ve 2034 Salt Lake City oyunları için yeni bir yasa tasarısı sunulduğunu duyurdu; tasarı, genellikle etkinliklerden yıllar önce hazırlanıyor.

The United States Mint has a precedent of issuing commemorative coins for Olympic Games. It released silver dollars for the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Games, the 1996 Atlanta Summer Games, and the 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Games. Earlier issues include the 1988 Seoul Summer Games, the 1992 Albertville Winter Games, and the 1992 Barcelona Summer Games.
For the upcoming 2028 Summer Olympics, which will again be held in Los Angeles, a bill has been introduced in the current session of Congress to authorize a new series of commemorative coins. The same legislation also seeks approval for a program linked to the 2034 Winter Games planned for Salt Lake City.
The Mint already produced a silver hand‑over medallion in 2024 to mark the transition from the Paris Games to the Los Angeles Games. Legislators typically consider such authorizations several years before the event, allowing the Mint to design and market the pieces in advance.
If the proposal advances without notable opposition, the numismatic community can anticipate another limited‑edition Olympic series, which historically attracts collectors and can influence secondary‑market activity. Observers are advised to monitor congressional developments for the final decision.
