Anna Walinska’nın 1956 Tarihli ‘The Earth Bears Witness’ Tablosu Fox’un ‘Best Medicine’ Dizisinde Öne Çıktı
Anna Walinska’nın 1956 tarihli ‘The Earth Bears Witness’ tablosu, 2024’te Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts koleksiyonuna girdi ve HBO projesinden çıkarıldıktan sonra Fox’un ‘Best Medicine’ dizisinin ikinci sezonunda doktor ofisinde sergilendi. Eser, sanatçının Holokost sonrası çalışmalarının bir parçası.

Anna Walinska (1906‑1997) was an American abstract expressionist whose 1956 black‑and‑white work The Earth Bears Witness entered the permanent collection of the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts in Little Rock in 2024. The painting, created roughly a decade after the Holocaust, belongs to a series the artist produced to process that trauma. It remained unseen publicly for more than twenty years before its first exhibition in 1979 at New York’s Cathedral of St John the Divine, alongside ninety‑two other Walinska works.
The painting was originally slated for the HBO miniseries White House Plumbers (2023) but was removed during editing. In the second season of Fox’s medical drama Best Medicine, which premiered in September 2026, the work now hangs in the office of the lead character Martin Best. Production designer Diane Lederman chose the piece after seeing a print in the show’s production office, describing it as a “cosmopolitan urbane” element that contrasts with the set’s previously rural décor.
Walinska’s estate, represented by her niece Rosina Rubin, notes that the artist often settled doctors’ fees with artworks, a practice echoed by the fictional doctor in the series. The recent acquisition of The Earth Bears Witness and additional works by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts reflects a broader resurgence of interest in Walinska, whose career included a 2023 solo show at Graham Shay 1857 and participation in the American Art Fair. These developments suggest a renewed market and scholarly attention to her modernist legacy.
